App to mirror your Mac’s screen with any Sony Bravia Smart TV. No wires needed and no additional hardware! You can also transfer individual video files from your Mac to your TV. Also, there is an option to view a window on your Mac and another window on your TV!
This feature works on any Sony smart TV from 2012 models onwards.
When using the application, there will be about 1 to 2 seconds of standby time. Therefore, this reflection is not suitable for gaming.
However, it is well suited to watch movies, presentations, photos and more!
The quality of your experience will depend on the quality of your intranet. Some tips to enhance the experience:
- Better yet, connect your TV with a LAN cable to your router.
- Use the “ac” router. If you do not have one, then router “n”.
- Try not to overload your wifi network by moving large files around while you are reflecting.
How it works:
First, make sure your Sony TV is on the same local area network and the same subnet as your Mac. The TV is not in screen reflection mode but in “TV” mode or any HDMI IN port.
After launching the app, you’ll see the app icon appear on the top bar of your Mac and the app will search your TV on the net. It will display your TV once it has found it. Now, you have two options:
Screen your Mac:
Use this option to place your Mac screen on your TV. In the source, you can select the screen (or the attached screen) that you want to display on your TV. If you are running multiple applications on a Mac, you can also select which application window you want to watch on your TV.
Check this to hear the sound of your Mac coming from the TV. You will need an additional audio driver (free), you can download it here: http://bit.ly/MirrorAudio
Play a video file:
Use this option if you have a video file on your Mac and you only want to play it on TV. Drop it in the box and it will play on TV.
